Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that his political influence and capacity have grown far beyond what they were when he served as governor of Ebonyi State. Speaking at a community gathering in his home state on Monday, Umahi emphasised that his current stature allows him to do more for his people than ever before.

Flanked by his 27-year-old son, Osborne Umahi — who recently secured the APC nomination form for the Ohazora local government chairmanship seat for 30 million naira — Umahi urged residents to embrace him and ignore detractors.

“Embrace me as one of your own. Don’t listen to noise makers. My capacity is like 10 times what it was when I was governor. I’m very dangerous now,” he said, stressing that he now has the means to deliver significant projects and support for his community.

He called on the industrious youth of Onicha Igboeze to come forward with their ideas and needs, promising: “Whatever is their need, they will have it done.”

The video of Umahi’s remarks has since gone viral on X, drawing widespread attention to his bold assertion of political strength and influence beyond his previous governorship role, with some expressing disapproval at his remarks. (Arise News)
