Ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards, scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States, many fans of the Nigerian music industry are eagerly waiting, as no fewer than five Nigerian artistes have been nominated.
The Grammy nominees include David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido; Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy; Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid; Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr; and Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, highlighting Nigeria’s growing influence on the global music stage.
Tribune Online reports that the official nominations for the 68th Grammy Awards were announced by the Recording Academy on November 7, 2025, ahead of the ceremony.
Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid received nominations in the Best African Music Performance category for tracks including “With You” (Davido & Omah Lay), “Love” (Burna Boy), and “Gimme Dat” (Ayra Starr & Wizkid).
Burna Boy was also nominated for Best Global Music Album for “No Sign of Weakness”.
Omah Lay earned his first Grammy nomination through his collaboration with Davido, while Asake also submitted work for consideration.
