Murdered lawyer, Princess Chigbo
By MONDAY IJEH
Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Miller Dantawaye, has pledged extensive and discrete investigation into the death of a female lawyer, Ms Princess Chigbo, in Abuja.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
Adeh said the CP made the pledge during an advocacy visit by a delegation from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
She said the delegation was made up of the Chairpersons of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), NBA Women Forum, and Unity Bar.
Adeh said the delegation had formally expressed concern over the tragic killing of their member and colleague, Chigbo, whose lifeless body was discovered along the Kubwa Expressway, Abuja.
“During the interaction, the CP commiserated with the delegation over the painful loss and assured them that the command has commenced extensive and discreet investigations into the death.
“The investigation is to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident, with a firm commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” she said.
Adeh said the CP called on FCT residents to remain security-conscious and vigilant, particularly when boarding commercial vehicles.
According to her, the CP advised the public, especially ladies, to be cautious of the vehicles they board and to refrain from accepting free rides from strangers.
The CP called for collective responsibility, timely information sharing, and public cooperation in preventing and dismantling “one-chance” criminal operations in the FCT.
He enjoined residents to report suspicious persons or activities to the command through its emergency lines on 08032003913 and 07057337653. (NAN)
