ADC chieftain Akuma
By PETER ANOSIKE
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nelson Ahamefula Akuma, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Presidency are now in panic mode over the official declaration of the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking while reacting to the development, he said that the way presidential media aide Daniel Bwala reacted within minutes of Obi’s declaration clearly showed that the ruling party has become jittery.
According to him, with Peter Obi now in ADC, a new Nigeria has become possible.
Akuma said that there is no doubt that fear has gripped the ruling party since the declaration because in the corridors of power, Peter Obi’s name sends shivers down the spines of the corrupt and complacent politicians who have done nothing but impoverish the life of millions of Nigerians.
Speaking further, he said that the only reason why Nigerian corrupt politicians are not comfortable with Peter Obi is because of his unwavering commitment to due process, honesty and transparency.
However, he said that Peter Obi’s message of genuine hope and change has resonated with most Nigerians, and it is only a matter of time, the dignity of Nigeria as the giant of Africa would be restored through African Democratic Congress leadership at the centre.
Furthermore, he said whether they like it or not Obi ‘wave’ is already here and no mudslinging or character assassination could stop it.
The Ebonyi State-born business man and politician said that ADC is on a mission to rescue Nigeria and called on all the believers in better Nigeria to come on board.
According to him, Peter Obi’s fearlessness in the face of bad governance has earned him the admiration of most Nigerians and on the other hand the ire of those who benefit from the status quo.
He stated that the former Anambra State governor has refused to join the ranks of those who prioritize personal gain over public service and that is the reason why he is being attacked by those who are benefiting from the corrupt system.
“The attack and criticism from those who feel threatened by his impeccable character and message only show that he is a force to be reckon with. In short, fear has gripped the ruling party over his official declaration. It is clear that Nigerian political class is notorious for silencing dissenting voices but that cannot work where Peter Obi is because of his character. They have searched everywhere but did not find anything to pin on him, the reason why he has proven to be an opponent they cannot intimidate. His message of hope and accountability has resonated with Nigerians from all walks of life, and his determination to challenge the corrupt elite has earned him a special place in the hearts of most Nigerians,” Akuma said.
He called on Nigerians to seize the moment of Obi’s declaration and join hands to build a better Nigeria.
His words: “In a world where compromise is often seen as necessary evil, Peter Obi stands out as a beacon of hope. His refusal to compromise his values, even in the face of adversity is a testament to his character and leadership quality. To all Nigerians who are fed up with corruption and ineptitude, I say let us join hands and support Peter Obi’s vision for a new Nigeria. Let us stand behind a leader who has demonstrated compassion, honesty, transparency, and accountability. Together, we can build a better future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us all join ADC and make history together.”
