A statement I’sued by the Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, said the Governor made this known at the Maulid celebration of Fityanul Islam.
The statement further said that the Centre will now be known as Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Centre Of Excellence For Qur’anic Sciences and Memorisation.
It will be recalled that the Governor had promised to immortalise the name of the late Sheikh when he led a 30-member delegation to Bauchi to commiserate with the family of the deceased.
Governor Uba Sani also pledged that his Government will establish a Foundation that will continue to preach the inter-religious harmony which the learned Islamic scholar was known for in his lifetime.
Speaking at the Maulid celebration, which held at Zaria, the Governor urged Muslim faithful to be united in devotion and to ‘’uphold the teachings of Prophet Muhammad(SAW), whose message transcends boundaries.’’
The statement noted that the Governor commended the leadership of Fityanul Islam for their steadfast dedication to peacebuilding and social cohesion. I also appreciate their prayers and support for our administration and the development of Kaduna State.’’
According to the statement, Governor Uba Sani also affirmed his commitment to pursue inclusive, people-centred governance that leaves no one behind in Kaduna State.
The Governor also disclosed that he regularly consults Sheikh Bashir Dahiru, one of the late Sheikh’s sons, on issues that border on Islam and leadership generally.
