Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Saturday, detained three suspected vote buyers in various parts of Anambra during the governorship election in the state.

Its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, said this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

He said that the arrests, made in multiple locations across the state, followed intelligence reports and field surveillance by operatives deployed to monitor electoral malpractices.

He said that the suspects were apprehended while either offering cash inducements to voters or collecting money in exchange for their votes

According to him, the suspects were arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka Local Government; Ward 2(008), Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government and Umunachi village, Dukonukofia Local Government.

“All the suspects were arrested while participating in the governorship election held on Saturday.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he said. (NAN)
