A 32-year-old man, Anthony Williams from Peterborough, has been charged with 10 counts of attempted murder after a stabbing on a London-bound train, the British Transport Police said on Monday.
He also faces charges of actual bodily harm and possession of a knife in connection with the incident, which occurred on Saturday evening.
According to the police, Williams was additionally charged with another count of attempted murder and possession of a knife over a separate incident in London earlier that same day.
Tracy Easton of the Crown Prosecution Service said the investigation involved “a huge volume of evidence including CCTV.”
“We know the devastating impact the events on Saturday’s train has had and how the incident shocked the entire country. Our thoughts remain with all those affected,” she said.
Williams is expected to appear in court in Peterborough later.
Ten people were taken to hospital after the attack, with four later discharged. One of the victims, a rail staff member who tried to intervene, remains in a life-threatening condition. (Nigerian Tribune)
