Youths, Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad beat Anambra community leader to pulp

Aboji Akanano Oba Community in Idemili South Council Area has been deserted after a team of policemen believed to be attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Anambra State Police Command, and some youths reportedly beat the President General, Chief Dozie Nweke, to pulp.

They deserted the village to avoid a reprisal from youths loyal to the President-General and others from other villages in the community who were not happy with the development.
It was gathered that the attack on the Nweke was hatched by a rival group that opposed his election.
On the fateful day, at about 3am, the attackers, scaled the perimeter fence of the compound of the PG, broke his door and ordered him out of the room.
In obedience as he came out they started beating him and cut his head, legs and chest with machete and on trying to bundle him into a waiting van, he was bleeding profusely which made them to abandon him in his pool of blood and flee.
