BREAKING NEWS: Ex-Governor Chime rumoured dead

Immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Chime, has been reported dead.

A WhatsApp broadcast made at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday by a prominent Enugu youth leader, said: “Breaking! Former Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Chime, is dead.” He did not provide further details.

News Express made efforts to confirm the information. While a Government House source said it was true, a Chime family member said the former governor had been sick but that he could not confirm his death.

News Express reports that Chime battled ill health for a good part of his eight years as Enugu Governor, which ended on May 29, 2015.
