Ogun pays August salaries, deductions

The Ogun State Government on Friday announced the payment August salaries to all categories of civil and public servants in the state as well as pensioners.

The State Government also announced the payment of part of the outstanding cooperative deductions due to the workers.

Adewale Oshinowo, Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, while describing the payment of the deductions as “a promise kept by the Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun,” added that “it is a further demonstration of the commitment of this administration to the welfare of its workforce.”

He said in a statement, a copy of which was made available to News Express: “As at today (September 8) the Ogun State Government has fully paid all categories of staff, including local government and pensioners. The state has also paid part of the outstanding cooperative deductions. This is in a bid to ensure that our workers enjoy the coming Eid-el-Kabir holiday.”

Oshinowo explained that the state government had earlier promised workers that the outstanding cooperative deductions would be paid in batches until the existing backlogs are cleared.

“It is in fulfillment of this, that the governor ordered the payment of part of the outstanding deductions.”
