Inflation has dropped, economy stable under Tinubu — APC Govs

Gov Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum




The Progressive Governor’s Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed that inflation in Nigeria is dropping as the economy is stabilizing under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, stated this while reading out the communique issued by the members of the Forum after their two days meeting in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

He noted that the Forum were satisfied with the measures adopted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in handling the economy of the nation, stressed that it has started yielding good results and instil Federalism, inclusiveness across the 8,809 INEC wards in the country.

According to him, “the forum undertook comprehensive appraisal of the national political, security and economy development, members of our forum expressed satisfaction with the advancement of our federalism, evidence of understanding and engagement between the Federal and the State Government. Noting the visible projects in physical reform, food security, power sector, infrastructure mobilisation and social interventions.

“The Forum congratulate Mr. President on the measurable successes being recorded in the economy and the national security.

“Our economy is steadily growing, inflation is on the decline, interest rates are on downward trajectory, foreign nation market is improving and appreciating, and allocation accruing to all tiers of governments are increasing, all due to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Furthermore, the Progressive Governor’s Forum also commended Mr. President for leading the National Economy Council to put in place the Renewed Hope Agenda programme designed to provide the opportunity for all Nigerians across the 8,809 INEC wards to do better.

“The forum noted with satisfaction the collaborative structure of the programme involving the FG, spread to LG areas as a model of cooperative federalism in inclusive development. This is a profound moment in our history as all the 8,809 wards assured of support from the government.”

Uzodimma also extended condolences to the families of the victims of insecurity in the country and assured the citizens that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would continue to provide security for all citizens.

He added that the forum is committed to the programmes and policies of the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

While welcoming the Governor of Enugu state into their midst, Uzodimma described his defection as a testament to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

“The forum formerly welcomes His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, into the Progressive fold. We applaud his courageous decision to join the APC along with his entire team, political structure, making all the number of APC Governors to 24.

“This development was recognized by the forum, welcome by the Forum, and it is historical and transformative, further affirming the national appeal and policies strength of the Renewed Hope Agenda being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Uzodimma said.

While speaking during the interaction session with the APC stakeholders in the state, Governor Nasir Idris told the members of the forum that there was no problem among the party’s members, and that they are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda and programmes. (The Sun)
