Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commiserated with the Sofenwa family over the death of the Second Nigerian Principal of Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro, Chief Lamidi Ayinla Sofenwa.
While expressing sadness at news of the death of Chief Sofenwa, the Governor urged the family of the deceased and indeed the entire good people of Ogun State, to take solace in the fact that Chief Sofenwa lived a successful and impactful life.
“While he would be dearly missed, we should also thank God for the kind of life Chief Sofenwa lived as a teacher, administrator and moulder of young lives,” Governor Amosun said.
He added that “as a pioneer teacher at the Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro; Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo; University of Ibadan and later Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, Chief Sofenwa has impacted many lives and made his mark in the education sector not only in Ogun State but across the federation.”
Chief Sofenwa who also served as Chairman of the Ogun State Cricket Federation and held the traditional title of Asoju of Egbaland, died on Thursday, aged 89.
Governor Amosun prayed for the repose of the soul of Chief Sofenwa while urging the younger generation to emulate the life of the late elder statesman.
