The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a minor shake-up in its workforce, following resolutions reached at the 14th sitting of its Board held between August 26 and 27, 2025.

In line with the Board’s directive, the Commission’s management has effected the reposting of pool officers back to their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies with immediate effect. Letters to the affected officers were issued on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

According to the Board, the decision was taken to eliminate redundancy and reposition the Commission for greater efficiency and improved service delivery. It is also expected to motivate staff toward higher performance.

To further strengthen the ongoing reforms, the Board approved the promotion of deserving officers and endorsed capacity-building programmes for the entire workforce. The training initiatives are aimed at equipping staff with the requisite skills to achieve NAHCON’s organizational objectives.

Chairman of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, assured that the 5th Board remains committed to building an effective and resilient workforce dedicated to fulfilling NAHCON’s statutory responsibilities in the service of Nigerian pilgrims. He added that more reforms would be introduced to enhance productivity.

The development is contained in a statement on Friday, September 5, 2025. by Fatima Sanda Usara
