President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday described as barbaric and unacceptable the alleged blasphemy killings which took place in Zamfara State.

The attack by mob of youths led to the death of eight persons.
But reacting to the incident, President Buhari in his Twitter handle @Mbuhari assured that the law will take its course.
Condemning the act, he insisted that under his watch there will be no place for violence in the name of religion and ethnicity.
The tweet read, “I received news of the mob killings in Zamfara with great dismay. It is barbaric & unacceptable. I assure that the law will take its course.
“My prayers are with the families of the victims.
“Under my watch we will work to ensure that there is no place for violence in the name of religion, ethnicity, or in any guise whatsoever.”
It would be recalled that the victim, who was a student of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, was alleged to have made a blasphemous statement against Islam and Prophet Muhammad and was consequently attacked by a mob who beat him to a pulp.
A man whose name was simply given as Tajudeen took him in his car and rushed him to a hospital, an action which the mob found offensive.
The mob marched to his house, set it on fire and killed eight persons.
