ADC: How thugs invaded our secretariat in Kogi

Vandalized ADC secretariat in Abejukolo

?Hoodlums suspected to be party thugs have reportedly vandalised the office of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at Abejukolo, headquarters of Omala local government in Kogi state.

The thugs were said to have invaded the party office on Saturday night.

According to locals, no suspect was arrested over the incident.

However, the Chairman of the Omala LGA chapter of ADC, Odaudu Ojonimi Friday, has condemned the invasion.

He said, “Unknown persons, under the cover of darkness, forcefully gained access to the premises and maliciously destroyed valuable property, including tables, chairs, party documents and flags.

“This act is not only criminal ,but also a direct attack on democracy, peace, and the values our party represents.

“Political differences should never be expressed through violence or destruction. We urge our members and supporters to remain calm, law-abiding, and not to retaliate in any form”.

?He added that the ADC “remains resolute in its commitment to democratic principles, peaceful engagement, and the pursuit of a better future for our people”, stressing that “no act of intimidation or vandalism will deter us from serving the citizens of Kogi State”.

Meanwhile, the party has called on the relevant security agencies to immediately investigate the incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure that such acts of political thuggery should not reoccur in the community in future.

Kogi police command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, did not respond to calls or text messages over the incident. (Daily Trust)
