Canada-based Nigerian targets Guinness World Record with 48-hour leadership lesson

Coach Peter Adeleke

Nigerian-born leadership coach and author, Peter Adeleke, is attempting to set a new Guninnes World Record by embarking on a 48-hour leadership lesson to be held in Calgary, Canada.

The marathon session, which runs from August 29-31, aims to surpass the current record of 24 hours, with Adeleke targeting a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 48 hours.

The event, which will take place at 451 Northmount Drive NW, Calgary, is structured into four-hour learning sessions that run continuously and participants are free to join or exit at any time. Attendance is said to be free, with free feeding also provided to in-person participants.

Adeleke, who authored the book ‘Born to Lead, Called to Serve,’ explained in an official video for his GWR attempt that the attempt goes beyond record-breaking. “It’s not just about breaking a record, it’s about changing the narratives of leadership for today and tomorrow,” he said.

“If you check every area of life one thing that is common is the quality of leadership available, but it is unfortunate that as common as that word is, not everyone understands what it takes to be a great leader. But here’s the truth, leaders aren’t born, they are made,” he added.

In an article posted on his website, Adeleke known by his stage name, Peter Trailblazer, described the challenge as a “one-stop leadership solution designed to empower professionals, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to thrive.”

He stressed that his motivation was not just personal ambition but to inspire a new generation of transformational leaders.

He said, “I’ve always been passionate about reshaping the way we think about leadership. For me, it’s about more than just theory or titles — it’s about transforming individuals and helping them realize their full potential as leaders. We aim to empower people to become more effective, authentic, and impactful leaders, not only by teaching essential leadership skills but by fostering a mindset shift that enables them to inspire and drive change within themselves and their teams.

“Throughout my career and academic journey, I’ve been deeply passionate about leadership—particularly Global Transformational Leadership. I believe that leadership is not just about managing people; it’s about inspiring, empowering, and creating positive change that transcends borders.

“As I attempt to break this record, I’ll deliver a series of speeches focused on leadership principles that integrate faith and global transformation. These speeches equip individuals with strategies to thrive in their careers, businesses, and personal lives.”

According to him, the marathon will cover critical leadership themes and feature job fair opportunities, connecting participants to practical career pathways.

“Having earned a Master’s degree focused on leadership, I have spent years refining my understanding of how great leaders can shape the future. Now, I want to share that knowledge with the world. Through this leadership marathon, we will explore Emotional Intelligence, strategic planning, and effective communication.

“Participants will gain hands-on tools to master Conflict and Crisis Navigation, and Lead Change. In addition, attendees will access Job Fair Opportunities that bridge leadership potential with real-world possibilities,” he wrote.

PUNCH Online reports that Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci has also announced plans to cook what she described as the largest pot of Jollof rice.

The celebrity chef revealed that the historic cooking event would take place on September 12, 2025, in collaboration with seasoning and culinary brand, Gino. (The PUNCH)
