Police deny declaring actress Iyabo Ojo wanted

Actress Iyabo Ojo

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed a viral “Wanted Person” bulletin in circulation alleging that popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo,fondly called Queen mother, is wanted by the Office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit.

In a statement on its official X handle on Thursday, the Force clarified that the publication did not emanate from the police and should be disregarded by the general public.

The police urged members of the public and the media to rely only on verified information from official police sources, warning against the spread of misinformation.

It added that investigations are underway to uncover the source of the fake document and ensure those responsible face the consequences.

However, Iyabo Ojo, a prominent actress and filmmaker, has not publicly reacted to the fake bulletin as of press time. (The Guardian)
