Actress Foluke Daramola-Salako
Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has opened up about the personal and financial setbacks she suffered for supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with Behind The Fame TV, Daramola-Salako revealed that she lost two lucrative ambassadorial contracts worth N10 million and N15 million because of her political stance. She also said her marriage almost collapsed due to the backlash.
“The truth of the matter is, for me, the way I was in 2023 cannot be the way I will be in 2027. It can’t be because… I know what I lost without collecting a kobo, no matter how much is seen.
“I lost two ambassadorial deals, one 10 million, one 15 million, because of the election, because of Obidient movement.
Foluke Daramola explained that the political tension and criticism she faced for supporting Tinubu took a toll on her relationship, pushing it to the brink.
“I almost lost my marriage but the fundamental thing is that I voted my conscience and choice,” she said, stressing that she had no regrets about standing by her decision.
During the 2023 campaign, Daramola-Salako served as media assistant for the performing arts directorate department of the APC’s presidential campaign council in Lagos State.
Despite the consequences, she maintained her loyalty to Tinubu, describing him as a father figure who had supported her on several occasions, including during her wedding. (Nigerian Tribune)
