RCCG GO, Pastor Adeboye
The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has appealed to his congregation for substantial financial contributions, requesting donations amounting to billions and millions of naira to support church projects.
The call for such large sums has generated significant attention and debate among members and observers.
In a widely circulated video from a recent Redeemed Christian Church of God 73rd annual convention at Redemption City in Ogun state on Saturday, Adeboye specifically urged at least 10 members to each donate N1 billion and another 100 members to contribute N100 million each, highlighting the need for these funds to further the church’s objectives.
“We have to build many more dormitories. For example, if you look at the choir’s altar, it was built to take 10,000 of them, but they have outgrown the altar, some of them are sitting on the floor and many times, the camera does not cover them.
“We have to enlarge the altar before December. Also, our water system that has served us for over 20 years, we will need to upgrade power supply as we expand our dormitories, sewage systems. We have a lot of projects to complete before December.
“I need at least 10 of my children who can give me at least one billion naira each, and I need 100 of my children who can give me a hundred million naira each.
This comes just days after Adeboye made headlines for predicting the exact day he would pass away and “go to the heavenly world.”
PUNCH Online reports that Adeboye revealed his vision of how he believes he will pass away, peacefully, on a Sunday, after attending church service and eating his favourite meal, pounded yams. (The PUNCH)
