
Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition fortoday, Friday, August 12, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: There are prospects of thunderstorms to affect places around Kano, Gusau, Sokoto, Yelwa and Zaria between the morning hours and early afternoon. These activities are expected to reduce over the aforementioned places later in the evening but affect Nguru, Damaturu, Dutse, Katsina, Maiduguri, Potiskum and Gombe axis. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 30- 33°C.
CENTRAL STATES: Thunderstorm activities are expected over this region between late morning and early afternoon. Pockets of rains are likely by evening but most especially over Mambilla Plateau, Jos, Minna, Bida Abuja and Ilorin axis. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 25- 31°C.
SOUTHERN STATES: There is likelihood of some rains over Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Owerri axis in the morning. The entire region has prospects of rainfall in the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27- 29°C.
