Alleged Budget Padding: Jibrin provides evidence to anti-graft agencies

Former Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Representative Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he has since submitted enough documents to the anti-graft agencies.

Mr Jibrin’s statement comes as part of evidences to back his allegations on padding of the 2016 budget by the House of Representatives.

He told Channels Television in an exclusive interview that some of the documents would nail some of his colleagues he had mentioned in the padding saga.

The lawmaker said that he has called for the security of the appropriation office and his office at the National Assembly where more indicting documents are.

He expressed readiness to help fight corruption in the National Assembly.

Officials of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) had on Saturday, sealed the Office of the House Committee on Appropriation.

This move by the DSS is believed to prevent any attempt to tamper with documents in the office of the Appropriation Committee. (Channels TV)
