Col Dauda Musa Komo rtd, former Military Administrator of Rivers State
By GARBA MUHAMMAD, Kaduna
Senator Bala Ibn Na?Allah has expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Colonel Dauda Musa Komo, a former Military Administrator of Rivers State, who passed away on Friday evening, May 30, 2025, in Port Harcourt.
Komo reportedly died in Port Harcourt while attending a public event in the state he once governed during the military regime of late General Sani Abacha. He served as MILAD from December 1993 to August 1996, overseeing the state during a turbulent period marked by protests and unrest in the Niger Delta, particularly among the Ogoni people.
In a condolence statement issued on Friday, Senator Na?Allah described the late Komo as ?one of Zuru?s most illustrious and distinguished sons,? and a ?patriot of the highest order.?
?Col. Komo was not only an outstanding military officer, but also a beacon of leadership and service to the Zuru Emirate and Nigeria at large. His death is a profound loss to us all,? the senator stated.
Na?Allah extended his condolences to the Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness Gen. Dr. Sani Sami Gomo II, the deceased?s immediate family, Zuru Emirate, and the entire Kebbi State.
He recalled Komo?s role as a former President of the Zuru Emirate Development Society (ZEDS), where he was credited with spearheading key developmental initiatives in the region.
?His indelible contributions will forever be remembered and should inspire current and future generations,? Na?Allah said.
He described Komo as ?a great icon whose life embodied integrity, service, and commitment to his people.?
?Adieu, our dear Col. Dauda Musa Komo,? the senator concluded.
