The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Saturday, July 23, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are anticipated in the morning hours while there are prospects of afternoon/evening thunderstorms to affect the region. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 32°C.

CENTRAL STATES: There are chances of an overnight weather system lingering to give morning rains over Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Jalingo, Ibi and Mambilla Plateau. The buildup of a fresh weather system in the afternoon leaves prospects of thunderstorms to affect the earlier mentioned places including Ilorin, Kaduna, Bida, Minna, Suleja and Lokoja in the evening period. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 24- 31°C.

SOUTHERN STATES: Morning monsoon rains are likely over the coastal areas of Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Yenagoa, Eket and Warri and the inland cities of the South East while isolated rains and thunderstorms are likely in the evening over the South east, and this activities should extend to affect Akure, Oshogbo, Ijebu-Ode, Ondo, Iseyin, Abeokuta and Ibadan region. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27-29°C.
