Matthew O Akinwale
By MATTHEW O. AKINWALE
Since he ascended to heaven on Pentecost Day of 33 CE to be with his Father, Jehovah God, no eyes have ever seen Jesus. (1Timothy 6:16).
He has used his flesh and blood in sacrifice once and for all time. He will never come in flesh (to corruption, as the Bible puts it) any more. (Hebrew 9:28; Acts 13:34)
The Scriptures say that Jesus died in the flesh but was resurrected in the spirit. (1 Peter 3:18)
When he was in the flesh on earth he was lower than the angels. However, he was exalted above all the angels upon his resurrection and return to heaven. He can never be lower than angels any more. (Philippians 2:5-10)
But one may ask: Was Jesus seen physically after his resurrection? Yes. He materialised in flesh to enable humans to know that he had been resurrected.
But why do we read in Revelation 1:7 that all eyes will see him? All eyes will see him by supernatural manifestation of his presence. The consequence, as we read in Matthew 25:46, is that all righteous ones – whom the Bible refers to as sheep – will be given everlasting life but the unrighteous ones – referred to as goats – will experience everlasting destruction.
Jesus is now in heaven as King of kings and Lord of Lords.
Therefore, Jesus will never be physically present any more.
