At least seven miners were killed following a tragic incident caused by a heavy windstorm at Agoi Ibami Mining Site in Nko, Yakurr Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred during a torrential downpour on May 3 at about 6:40 p.m., resulted in a large tree falling and crushing the miners who were working at the site.

The victims were identified as Vone Ali Usman, and Adamu Ciroma, both from Chad Republic; Aliyu Hassan, Ibrahim Sule, Hassan Umaru, Mohammed Idris, and Aliyu Ibrahim, all from Zamfara State, Nigeria.

Police sources confirmed the incident saying investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing. (Zaragoza: Text, Excluding Headline)
