The vigilantes have arrested two friends, Ismaila Yakubu and Kabiru Aliyu, for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old Fulani girl in Ikwa community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
A member of the vigilante, Usman Dantala, said the incident happened on Saturday around 2:12 pm when the two friends lured the girl into one of their friends? room and gang raped her.
He said the two friends, who are commercial cyclists, invited the Fulani girl to sell Nunu to them at one of their friends? house, and lured her into the room and gang raped her.
He said it was a neighbour who raised an alarm after he overheard some strange noise from the room through his window and became suspicious.
He said, ?The neighbour quickly rushed to alert others, who rushed to the room and saw the Fulani girl crying half naked, while one of the boys managed to escape.?
He said the vigilantes came to arrest the suspect who took them to a joint where the other culprit was also arrested.
He said the vigilantes later took the girl to the hospital where it was confirmed that the two had carnal knowledge of her, adding that the suspects were handed over to the security personnel.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command, SP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident. (Daily Trust)
