An Anambra philanthropist and grassroots political mobilizer, Hon. Obinna Igboebisi, has hearkened to the cry for help by teachers at Ire Primary School in the Obosi area of the state.
Hon. Igboebisi, who is also a businessman, once aspired to occupy a place in the Anambra state assembly as a representative of Idemili North LGA on the APGA political platform in 2023.
Accompanied by key members of his political support group, which is still inchoate, Igboebisi visited Ire primary school, Obosi on April 29, 2025 and donated these items to the school: ninety plastic chairs, fifteen plastic tables, 10 creche playing mats, and cleaning mobs.
His humanitarian act, which was precipitated by the teachers' ceaseless and heart-rending whining about dearth of pieces of furniture in the school, was in line with the Igboebisi family's tradition of helping children from indigent homes to access quality education.
In her reaction to Hon. Igboebisi's act of philanthropy, the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Ngozi Molokwu, who was beside herself with joy regarding the donation, thanked Hon. Igboebisi profoundly for his act of kindness.
"I am short of words. I am speechless. So I don't know how to thank him.
"But today is the day we have been waiting for.
"So I would say that God has used Igboebisi to meet the needs of our school," Molokwu said.
More so, another teacher in the school, Mrs. Pottamiana Lucy Ugonwa, said this about the donation: "We are joyful. We are thankful. Hon. Igboebisi has wiped away our tears. So we are praying for his success in his political adventures. "
In addition, Mrs. Molokwu, who is the headmistress of the school, called for the execution of security measures in the school to stop the looting of the school's properties and the destruction of its buildings by criminal elements.
"You can see that our school does not enjoy electricity supply because the electrical wirings and installations in the school had been looted and vandalized by criminal elements. And our library is denuded of books and chairs.
"Again, the floors of our classrooms are broken and partly not cemented; and the ceilings of our classrooms are loosened and caving in.
"So we are calling on the state government and public-spirited individuals to come to our aid, " Molokwu said.
Hon. Igboebisi promised to contribute his quota towards solving the problems of the school, in addition to using his clout and vast political tentacles to call the state government's attention to them.
"I will help the school to tackle its problems as well as using my influence to call the government's attention to them,? he quipped.
