President Tinubu
A pro-Tinubu group, The Progressives Think-Tank, has condemned civil servants across ministries and extra-ministerial offices for concealing information on the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The group expressed deep concern over the deliberate withholding of vital information regarding progress made by ministries under President Tinubu’s leadership.
In a statement signed by Deputy Project Lead, Ms Christiana Titus, the group stated that such actions undermine transparency and accountability, and do a disservice to the public and institutions.
“Concealing this information erodes public trust, hampers inter-agency collaboration, and diminishes the credibility of our democratic institutions,” she said.
The group urged relevant oversight bodies to investigate these incidents and hold those found culpable accountable. They also called on ministries and government departments to strengthen internal communication protocols, promote a culture of openness, and reinforce ethical standards.
Ms Titus emphasised that public office is a public trust that must never be compromised. “Our citizens deserve nothing less than full transparency and an unwavering commitment to service,” she said, urging civil servants to act with integrity, professionalism, and impartiality.
The group’s condemnation highlights the importance of transparency in governance. When public officials withhold information, it can create suspicion and mistrust among citizens. By being open and transparent, government agencies can build trust and demonstrate their commitment to serving the public.
The Progressives Think-Tank’s statement serves as a reminder to civil servants of their responsibility to serve the public interest. By working together to promote transparency and accountability, government agencies can ensure that citizens have access to the information they need to hold their leaders accountable.
