Igwe Nwabueze Ohazulike
The Lagos State chapter of Ohanaze Ndigbo has expressed sadness over the passing of Eze Igbo of Lagos State, Eze Hyacinth Nwabueze Ohazulike, who died on 20 April 2025.
Eze Ohazulike also was the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Ndi Eze Ndi Igbo in the Diaspora and its premier president.
A statement signed by Prince Ubochi Ubochi, spokesperson to the president, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, said that the president of the chapter, High Chief Sunday Ossai, “is profoundly saddened by the news of the passing of our esteemed leader.”
Ubochi stated that Ossai extended his condolences to the bereaved family, adding that an official statement will be released by the organization in due course.
The president further assured that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State will be fully involved in the funeral arrangements and will ensure that Eze Igbo of Lagos State is honoured with a befitting burial.
In a related development, Eze Chris Offia, chairman of the Council of Ndieze Ndigbo, Lagos State, has described the passing of Eze Ohazulike as shocking and a great loss to Ndigbo and Nigeria.
Eze Offiah prayed to God to grant the departed eternal rest and that God will give his immediate family and his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. (Daily Independent)
