The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo State has berated the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Pastor Ize Iyamu, for allegedly making hate speeches in their bid to win the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The Chief Spokesperson and Director of Media and Publicity of Edo APC, Hon. Abbas Braimah, described the effort of the PDP as a wasteful venture, stressing that “their calamity and level of frustration was openly displayed when their factional governorship candidate entertained the crowd by singing like a bird rather than unveiling his agenda for the state.”

The former lawmaker in a press statement, a copy of which was made available to News Express, challenged the PDP factional flag bearer to identify his true identity “either as a man of God or an antichrist, which has come to mock the good work of Christ. It is only anti Christ that can accuse the APC in Edo State despite the effort of Oshiomhole administration which even the blind have testified and still testifying about.”

The statement maintained that Oshiomhole is “the Messiah that God brought to rescue the state from the enslavement of the PDP and that it would be wrong for a man who refers to himself as a man of God to publicly say he can swear that Oshiomhole has not performed.”

It added: “If a pastor can be so willing to swear over an obvious truth then the spiritual foundation of Pastor Ize Iyamu should be properly examined and called to order for the spiritual sanctity of the household of God. It is only a man who doubts the finished work of Christ at the cross that can be so blind to the truth.”

Braimah, who represented Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representative under the PDP, said he has “a better knowledge of the PDP than Iyamu who has nothing to offer the people of Edo State.” According to him, it was a show of shame for the PDP to refer to Oshiomhole as an emperor.

“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the most accessible leader in Nigeria both as a labour leader and as a Governor. Hon. Braimah reminded Iyamu of his days in office as a Chief of Staff when he prided himself as a mini god who was not approachable by the common man. He challenged the PDP to defend themselves by providing to Nigerians the true statistics of the PDP leaders,” Braimah stated.
