The Uche Ogah Campaign Office has faulted a recent interview granted by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State in which he claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has apologised over their issuance of Certificate of Return to Ogah.
In a statement signed by Peter Kalu, the organisation said INEC has no ground to render an apology for obeying a simple court order.
According to Kalu, “There was no such apology besides, apologies does not supersedes a legal document. People should understand that there’s a standing court rule over the issues involved, that took months and intensive arguments, and defense by the best lawyers in the nation on both sides, before decision wasarrive at. And the outcome was served INEC which they obeyed. So, on what moral ground should INEC such an apology? If there was to be such an apology it will come directly from INEC.
“Mind you, all these while they have not argued about Ikpeazu’stax certificates being forged, A fact they have accepted, but are arguing that he was not aware of it. A lie the court refused to accept.”
