Ese Oruru, a minor, who was allegedly abducted by Yunusa Dahiru, on Friday continued her testimony behind closed door sfor the second time before a Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Parents and journalists were not allowed to witness the proceedings.
Ese, who was brought to the court under tight security, covered her head with a brown chiffon scarf and was hurriedly ushered into the courtroom.
A clerk in the court, who preferred anonymity, said she was briefly cross examined by the Defence Counsel, Kayode Olaosebikan, before Justice Aliya Nganjiwa adjourned the matter to July 8.
Olaosebekan, who spoke on bail conditions of the alleged abductor of Ese, said he may meet the bail conditions on July 4.
“The process to perfect the bail condition is at advanced stage; we are still working on the bail and we are trying to perfect the bail conditions. The court is in the process of verifying sureties and we hope that by Monday, July 4, he, Yunusa, will be out from prison,” Olaosebikan said.
Yunusa Dahiru had been in prison custody over his inability to meet the bail conditions of sureties of a level 12 civil servant, a traditional ruler from Bayelsa and a surety of N3 million.
Based on his plea through Olaosebikan, the court later relaxed the bail conditions to a level nine civil servant, and further granted the prayer of the defendant to also allow a Hausa traditional ruler from any community to stand as surety.
