Global music star, Shakira, has pulled out of her highly anticipated concert in Lima, Peru, after being rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain.

The unexpected health scare forced the 48-year-old star to cancel her performance, which was part of her long-awaited world tour.

The Colombian singer, known for hits like “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Waka Waka”, revealed on social media that she was taken to the emergency room on Saturday night and remained under medical supervision.

“The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening,” she wrote, expressing her disappointment at missing the show.

She assured fans that she was hoping to be discharged by Monday so she could continue her tour, which marked her return to the stage after seven years.

Shakira’s health scare comes shortly after she received a Grammy award for Best Latin Pop Album, which she dedicated to migrants in the United States.

The “Whenever, Wherever” crooner had kicked off her tour in Rio de Janeiro, bringing high-energy performances to fans eager to see her live again.

The tour, which spans nearly 50 shows across Latin America, is expected to extend to the United States and Canada. However, with this recent health challenge, fans are now left wondering if there will be further delays.
