The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Cajetan Duke, has resigned from his position.

Duke said his resignation, which takes effect from Friday February 14, was to enable him focus on the broader interests of the people rather than partisan sentiments.

He announced his resignation in a letter to the state Chairman, Sir MacDonald Ebere.

Duke expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the party for the support and trust in him.

He also said he would remain eternally grateful for the experience he garnered serving the party.

While confirming the resignation on Friday, he told The Nation he took the decision to resign to avoid “conflict of interest.”

“When things are not working well, the option is to quit to avoid conflict of interest,” he said. (The Nation)
