Anambra 2025 LP guber aspirant Nwosu
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
A governorship aspirant of the Labour Party (LP), John Nwosu, has taken a swipe on Anambra State Government on the cruel way its agents handle issues of crime and violations of any kind in the state.
This was contained in a statement by Nwosu and made available to journalists in Awka.
According to him, the measure is by no means the proper way for the government to deal with law and order and rule of law matters.
He said: "l am deeply concerned by this video of supposedly Anambra State Government internal revenue agents brutalizing Anambra indigenes in the name of IGR collection.
While recalling that similar traumatizing episodes have reportedly occurred between ANSG Waste Management and ANSG Anti-Touting Agents and innocent and unsuspecting citizens, he added,
“Whatever be the case, any crime or violation, and even if the individuals were suspected cultists, drug peddlers, bandits or kidnappers, does not warrant such egregious cruelty, torture and uncivilised reprisal.
“These are by no means the proper way for the government to deal with law and order and rule of law matters.
“The ANSG is vicariously liable for these wanton acts of brutality that in no way represent civility, humaneness or good governance. Such conducts must cease forthwith”, Nwosu stated.
