BREAKING NEWS:  Saraki, Ekweremadu arraigned, for alleged forgery, granted bail

Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have been granted bail after being arraigned before the High Court, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, for allegedly forging Senate Rules in 2015.

Also granted bail were two other principal officers of the National As­sembly charged alongside them, namely, Sal­isu Abubakar Maikasuwa and Benedict Efeturi.

The case has been adjourned till July 11, 2016.

The four men were dragged to court in charge number CR/219/16 by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice for allegedly tamper­ing with the standing rules to conduct election that brought them into office.
