Lagos Central Business Districts stakeholders forum holds on June 28

The Lagos State Government Central Business Districts Agency has fixed Tuesday, June 28, 2016 for an interactive stakeholders forum in pursuance of government’s quest to boost the agency’s fortunes through effective Public – Private Sector Partnership Principle.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts (CBD), Honourable Agboola Dabiri recently revealed that the one-day event, scheduled for Lagos City Hall was designed to woo investors and corporate organisations back to Lagos Island.

The forum would focus on opportunities accessible in the CBD and the need for interested individuals and organisations to turn around existing challenges in line with the ardent desire of government to revitalize and return the lost glory and beauty of Lagos Island of the ’80s and ’90s.

According to Honourable Dabiri, a formidable and virile synergy with the private sector has the greatest potential to spur provision of social amenities for the benefit of the entire citizenry, even as government is poised to tap all available opportunities needed to push CBD to the next level for the attainment of the desired international standards.

Mr. Dabiri said the upcoming event, a collaborative effort with the School of Sustainability, Arizona USA, provides an avenue for corporate organisations to identify and explore the benefits of a huge population, constant electricity, cheap labour, serene environment and other enormous opportunities that engender impressive returns for corporate organisations that transact business within the districts.

“Governor Ambode has done so well to improve traffic through removal of impediment to free flow of human and vehicular movement”, and has assured that necessary logistics and wherewithal will always be put in place to encourage the return of corporate organisations whose contributions and support are very vital to any manner of revitalisation and development envisaged for CBD,” he added.

The Special Adviser clarified that Lagos State Government’s target is a “21st century CBD where enormous resources would be committed to open up a vista of opportunities that corporate organisations will favorably benefit from, if they return to Lagos Island CBD.”

In her own contribution, Coordinator of the event and Assistant Director, Administration and Human Resources of the Agency, Miss Abiodun Olayinmika Macgregor, said the forum is targeted at business moguls, CEOs, Captains of Industry and other well-meaning philanthropists all over Nigeria and international investors who are in the vanguard of giving back to the society, especially where they operate.
