Senator accuses IGP emeritus Solomon Arase of corruption

Senator representing Bauchi Central, Isah Misau, has accused Solomon Arase, until yesterday the Inspector General of Police (IGP), of corruption.

Misau made the allegation on Tuesday during a debate on the alleged forgery case involving Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, and two other principal officers of the National Assembly.

While making his contribution to the debate, Senator Misau, who doubles as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy Matters, veered off the topic for discussion to attack Arase, who retired yesterday upon the attainment of 35 years of service.

He said of Arase: “The IGP promoted a lot of junior officers above their due rank. That is corruption.”
