Fire has reportedly gutted Kaduna State Ministry of Justice.
The State Governor, Nasiru el-Rufai, had visited the scene in the morning of Monday to assess the extent of damage before proceeding for the State Executive Council Meeting.
Eyewitnesses said the fire, which started from the Permanent Secretary’s office, had raged for over two hours before the fire service came and quenched it.
Abubakar Zawokari Adamu, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), confirmed that based on preliminary visit with Director Fire Service to the scene, “13 offices were burnt down, no injury and no life was lost.”
“Though investigation is ongoing, but we are suspecting electrical fault in one of the offices,” he said.
Offices completely burnt are that of the Director Legal Drafting, Assistant Director Public Prosecution, Director Civil Litigation, Chief Registrar Litigation, Chief Store Officer, Chief Executive Officer (Accounts), Director Administration, Director Planning, Research and Statistic among others.
Amina Byeris-Sijuwade, the Commissioner of Justice’s office, and some few others were not affected by the fire.
