Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed she was raped five times in the past and has never met British-Nigerian singer, AzeezFashola, aka Naira Marley.

The 47-year-old actress revealed this during a conversation with Biola Bayo on her talk show, Talk to B.

The interview, released today, January 3, 2025, shed light on the actress’s stance against rape and her frustrations with those who defend such actions.

She said, “I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically.”

Addressing speculations linking her to controversial Naira Marley, Iyabo made it clear that they have never met. “I have never met Naira Marley before my entire life,” she stated, putting rumours to rest.

Iyabo, a mother of two, also revisited her challenging upbringing. She spoke about her father’s battle with addiction,

“My dad did everything—alcohol and drugs—so it messed him up at a young age. He died at 49,” she said.

Raised in Lagos, Iyabo revealed she was brought up by her grandmother while being estranged from her parents. “I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother,” she shared. (Courtesy, excluding headline, The Guardian)
