December 25, 2024, marked a joyous day for the Ituk Mbang community in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as they gathered for the maiden Ituk Mbang Day Festival, which is billed to be an annual event moving forward. The solemn assembly set the tone for a day filled with reflection, gratitude, and celebration.
Bishop Dr. Ekereobong Moses delivered a powerful and uplifting message, aligning perfectly with the festival’s theme, “Peace Be Still.” His words resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring hope and renewing their commitment to peace and harmony.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the fruit tree, symbolizing growth, unity, and abundance. This meaningful gesture served as a reminder of the community's strength and resilience. The lighting of the unity torch was another emotional moment, representing the community’s unwavering commitment to harmony and togetherness.
As the flame ignited, it cast a warm glow over the gathering, signifying the light of peace and unity that binds them together. Pastor Michael Joseph Okon, the International President of Coalition of Youth Leaders CYL In Akwa Ibom State and indigene of Ituk Mbang, stood in for the youths carrying the torch as a symbol of hope, peace, and prosperity.
Bishop Akpan of Service and Glory Church, Ituk Mbang, who is also the Chairman Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Uruan, was at hand to offer prayers for the growth and Unity of Itukmbang,stating that he is also from Itukmbang community.
Eteidung Emmanuel E. Bassey, JP, the village head of Ituk Mbang, expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and the people for the unity and cohesion within the Ituk Mbang community. His words were met with applause, reflecting the community’s appreciation for his leadership and vision.
The maiden Ituk Mbang Day Festival was a resounding success, serving as a testament to the community’s strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to peace and unity. The Chairman of Ituk Mbang Village Council, Elder Effiong Thompson, in his closing remarks thanked all for coming.
