BREAKING NEWS: Another tragedy befalls Nigerian football as Ex-Super Eagles Coach Amodu Shuiabu dies

Four-time Super Eagles Coach Amodu Shuiabu has died. He died this morning at the age of 58.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amodu complained of chest pains before he went to bed on Friday night and “he could not wake up” from his sleep this morning.

Amodu’s death brings to two the number of Nigerian football legends – both with Benin City, Edo State, as base – to die in a week.

It comes as the world is still mourning Stephen Keshi, who suddenly passed away on Monday in Benin City, June 6, reportedly of cardiac arrest. Amodu and Keshi worked together as Nigeria’s head coach and assistant coach respectively at the 2002 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Mali.
