Madonna University Alumni Association has charged the newest graduatesof the university to leverage their education to drive positive change in Nigeria and beyond.
The President of the association, Mr Peter Nwachukwu, gave the charge in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Lagos.
Nwachukwu described the graduates as hardworking and resilient, saying that their graduation marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
“You have earned your place among the finest minds, and now, you are stepping into a world full of challenges and opportunities, congratulations on this remarkable achievement.
“I will highlight the strides made by the alumni under my leadership. Theyincludementorship programmes and career development initiatives, and establishment of alumni chapters across the country.
“We have created a network that empowers alumni and supports students, bridging the gap between generations and fostering a culture of excellence,” he said.
Nwachukwu also commended the university’s leadership, particularly the Chancellor, Rev. Father Emmanuel Edeh, fordedication to fostering a strong alumni-student relationship.
He said that Nigeria needed the graduates’ integrity, resilience and service.
“The challenges are real, but so are also the opportunities; be bold, innovative, and remain committed to making impacts.
“I encourage you all to stay connected with thealumni because it is a family that offers lifelong support.
“No matter where life takes you, remember that you have a community that believes in your potential and stands ready to support you,” he said.
Nwachukwu said that Nigeria’s future would depend on those who dared to dream and act.
“You are the generation that will redefine our nation.
“Embrace this responsibility with courage and purpose,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Madonna University is the first Catholic university in Nigeria.
It has three campuses that are located in Elele, Rivers; Okija, Anambra State; and Akpugo, Enugu State. (NAN)
