Senators get formal notice of Buhari’s sick leave, appointment of Osinbajo as Acting President

After many days of suspense and speculations, the Senate has finally notified Nigerians of the 10-day medical vacation of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United Kingdom, over his ear infection.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, during today’s plenary session at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, read the letter from President Buhari, informing that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, would be acting on his behalf. President Buhari travelled out on Monday to see Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) experts.

President Buhari, when accused of not informing the Senate before he proceeded on the journey, said: “Notification has been sent to the Senate before his procession.”
