Gov Eno of Akwa-Ibom State
Governor Umo Eno on Thursday dismissed Engr. Meyen Etukudoh from his role as Managing Director and CEO of Ibom Power Company (IPC), effective immediately.
The termination was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and made available to the press on Thursday evening in Uyo.
The decision to remove Etukudoh comes just hours after he released a statement attributing the recent statewide power outage, which began on Wednesday, to a dispute between Ibom Power and its gas supplier, Savannah Energy Company.
According to the statement, the governor?s decision to dismiss Etukudoh aligns with an ongoing restructuring initiative aimed at aligning the state?s power sector with the administration?s ARISE Agenda.
?As part of the ongoing restructuring of this administration, in alignment with the government?s objectives in the power sector under the ARISE Agenda, Governor Umo Eno has relieved the Managing Director of Ibom Power Company Limited, Engr. Meyen Etukudoh, of his duties effective November 14, 2024,? the statement read.
Etukudoh has been instructed to hand over to the Commissioner for the Ministry of Power, who will oversee the company?s operations until further notice.
The governor expressed his appreciation for Etukudoh?s service to the state and extended best wishes for his future endeavors. (Vanguard)
