Ex-VP Namadi Sambo
Alhaji Suleiman Sambo, the elder brother of former Vice President and former Kaduna State Governor Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has passed away.
He died on Monday at the age of 82 after a long illness. Alhaji Suleiman Sambo is survived by his wife, 11 children, 52 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.
During his career, he served in the Department of Government Printing within the defunct Ministry of Information and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, retiring as a Chief Superintendent in 1994 after 35 years of dedicated service.
Alhaji Suleiman Sambo was a respected community and religious leader whose impact was celebrated by many at his funeral, held at the Bashama Road Cemetery. The service was attended by family members, relatives, and sympathizers, including former Vice President Namadi Sambo, as well as religious and traditional leaders.
Leading the funeral rites, the Chief Imam of Kaduna Polytechnic Central Mosque, Ustaz Sadiq Yusuf, urged Muslims to commit themselves to the worship of Allah and to contribute positively to their communities. He also remembered Alhaji Suleiman Sambo for his dedication to religious tolerance and peacebuilding during his lifetime. (Vanguard)
