The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday declared that the party has no faction saying its leadership and members stand united with Governor Nasir el-Rufai in delivering service to the masses.
It would be recalled that, the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, under APC, Shehu Sani, who was also a governorship aspirant in the 2015 election, Isah Hashiru and former Secretary, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, had floated a group known as APC AKIDA in the state last Thursday. However, addressing a news conference in Kaduna, to mark the first year anniversary of APC led government, the state acting Publicity Secretary of the party, Salisu Tanko Wusono, warned disloyal party members to desist from operating ‘illegal and unrecognised group’ or face sanctions.
APC while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his efforts to set Nigeria on a new path of financial recovery said they are proud of Governor El-Rufai for using the party’s manifesto as his guide in developing the state. Wusono, who highlighted El-Rufai’s free school feeding programme of 1.5 million pupils every day said the ruling party is looking forward to the commissioning of 255 modernised primary health centres one in each ward of the state.
APC further commended the governor for employing 2,503 youths into Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency, KASTELEA, among other numerous achievements.
“As a party, the Kaduna State APC stand united behind Governor Nasir El-Rufai, in delivering service for our people. Our party was elected to lead change and bring development, not to pander to the ego of people.
“Those who think that nothing can be right if they are not the drivers and condemn laudable initiatives just because they are not treated as masters should reconsider their conduct
“The APC Kaduna State cannot be factionalised. We will not tolerate indiscipline. We have given people enough time to adjust to the reality that they are not in a position to hold the party or the process of change to ransom just because of their personal interests,” the party said.
APC further explained: “Some people lost their bid to occupy the office of chairman; others were soundly defeated in the gubernatorial primaries. Despite this, the party tried to carry them along. But they stood aloof during the campaigns; some even went as far as cooperating with the PDP.
“We heard that a group of persons sat with a suspended senator to announce an illegal and unrecognised group. They are hereby warned to desist. We thank the generality of APC members and the good people of Kaduna State.”
