The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, May 31, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy is expected over some places around Sokoto, Kano, Gusau, Katsina, Nguru and Maiduguri throughout the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 35- 39oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy condition is anticipated with Chances of isolated thunderstorms over Mambilla axis in the morning. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over the high grounds of central states including Abuja, Jos, Lafia and southern Kaduna in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27- 34oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected in the morning. Isolated thunderstorms are not unlikely over the coast and inland cities especially places like Lagos, Port-Hacourt, Calabar, Enugu, Awka, Oshogbo, Akure and Owerri during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 23-34oC.
