Revealed: Why Kano SSG was sacked

The removal of the secretary of the Kano State Government, Engr Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi was as a result of his wavering loyalty to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and continued loyalty to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, despite the fact that the two have parted ways, LEADERSHIP Sunday learnt.

Our investigation revealed that the sacked SSG led a delegation of political groups’ leaders and individuals recently to pay a solidarity visit to the former Senator Kwankwaso, his erstwhile boss.

Yesterday, Saturday, May 28, marked the end of the five year reign of the Kano SSG, as the the state’s head of Civil of Service, Auwal Naiya announced the sacking of the SSG, among other top government functionaries.

Our checks also revealed that since the political union between Governor Ganduje and Senator Kwankwaso went sour, the position of the SSG occupied by Kwankwaso’s close associate, Bichi, had for long been anticipated to be made vacant.

It was gathered that most important political office in the present Kano state government are occupied by persons believed to be close to Kwankwaso, including the office of the Principal Private Secretary to Governor Ganduje, which was also made vacant.

Imminent reason for the removal of the SSG was simply the rift between Governor Ganduje and Senator Kwankwaso, which has defied all mediatory efforts.

Unconfirmed reports have it that the sacked SSG had been a mole in the Ganduje-led government. (LEADERSHIP)
