The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, May 22, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: There are chances of isolated thunderstorm activities over Maiduguri, Potiskum, Nguru, Damaturu, Sokoto, Kano, Gusau and Yelwa during the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 36 - 38oC.
CENTRAL STATES: We expect isolated thunderstorms activities around Bida, Abuja, Lafia, Yola, Mambila Plateau and Makurdi during the morning hours. The high grounds of this region like Abuja and Jos are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures forecast are likely to be in the range of 29 - 32oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of localised rains over Lagos, Benin, Port Harcourt, Eket and Calabar during the morning hours. There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the entire region during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 32 - 33oC.
